Splitting Wood into Thirds

Oh, yes you can!

There are three points to this post:

1) Pretty pictures.

2) Cheap hatchets from Harbor Freight with their handles shortened make excellent starting wedges, and are cheaper than regular wedges.

3) As I have learned from Drew Langsner, it's possible to split wood into thirds.
